New patients are always welcome at Dakota Dental and Implant Center. Your first visit with us maybe a little different than any you have experienced in the past. After all the necessary new information is gathered, Dr. Nelson will be spending 40-50 minutes with you in what most patients say is the most thorough dental exam they have ever had. The health of your gum tissue, existing decay and restorations noted, new decay diagnosed, the health of your joints and bite evaluated and an oral cancer exam will be administered. There will be a chance to talk about your concerns and fears. Any needed x-rays will be taken, oral hygiene instruction shared and, if needed, diagnostic photos and study models. After your initial new patient exam, Dr. Nelson will take all the information gathered and analyze your particular case. A treatment plan will be generated to help you reach your optimum dental health. All of this will be shared with you stating Dr. Nelson’s findings, long term risks and appropriate solutions. Our goal is that every patient have the information necessary to make an informed decision on their dental health. |
